Does American Idol Need Paula?

Paula Abdul has recently been making a stink about renewing her contract for Season 9 of American Idol. She is holding out for more money... so far. So I have stopped wondering "if she is coming back" and have been thinking "would Idol survive without Paula?"


Here's the deal. During the season, I think a good size chunk of Idol fans don't really care what goes on with the music... they just want to see what the judges will say. Everybody loves to have Simon and his blunt comments. People probably watch Randy because they like the term "dawg." And Paula... she is simply a train-wreck on the TV.

I think the show would still be a big hit, but things would probably suffer without her. UNLESS... they found a SUPER-MESSED UP star to take her place or maybe just someone without a bone of talent in their bodies. (May I suggest the Jonas Brothers for the talentless judges?) Who would you want to be the replacement judge if Paula leaves the show?
