Wedding Time!!

So this is my last day at work this week before MY WEDDING! I'm pretty excited, but haven't really had the time to sit down and enjoy what's happening just because I've been sooooo busy working and finalizing plans and ridiculous details like napkin colors, the number of people at each table, the exact hue of ribbon that I need to buy for the card box, etc.

Never again will I get married - too crazy to plan! I'm also going to encourage my sister to elope when she decides to get married so I can avoid the whole planning mess again! But seriously, I can't be more excited to be actually getting married.

Next step - honeymoon - then I'll be back to real life :) Please be nice to the DJs who are working while I'm out playing!

Celebrity Grossness

A few beloved celebrity ladies have really started looking sickly recently, especially Madonna and certain pictures of Angelina Jolie. (This picture is from Eonline!)


Look how terrible their arms look - super skinny and veiny and unhealthy! I know my arms (for starters) are not the best - but c'mon ladies... a sandwich or a milkshake goes a long way!

Fitness experts say that celebs' skin looks all veiny because they are not eating much salt and that keeps them from retaining water - the result = skinny celebrities.

Overall, everyone looks better with at least a LITTLE weight on them... no one wants to see your full bone structure! Are these ladies too skinny or lookin' good?

Sleeping At Work

The trend keeps growing - many employers are allowing (if not encouraging) their employees to take time out of their busy workdays to take a powernap. Research has shown that sleep deprivation results in impaired memory, motor skills, and decision making.

Naps have been shown to improve all those conditions plus they help to reduce stress and even heart disease!

Google features special (crazy looking) napping pods for their employees to get some quick shut-eye. Other companies offer employees the option to include massages and aromatherapy during their resting periods.

Given the chance, I would ABSOLUTELY take a nap at work. I would even go as far to say it could positively influence a decision when on the job-hunt. Is there a downside to this at-work napping??

Foul Ball "Didn't" End Relationship

Picture this: You're at a baseball game with your boyfriend, a foul ball is heading right for you in the stands... your boyfriend takes cover, getting away from the line drive THEN you get hit with the ball.

Yeah, not my idea of fun either. As you've probably seen, it happened. The newly famous couple then sat down on the Early Show on CBS to talk about the incident.

Needless to say, this guy will probably never hear the end of it from his friends about how he ran away from a baseball while his lady go hit (nor should he) - but it got worse. The hosts asked the couple if they were still together - and she quietly replied, "It's not over because of the ball."

AWKWARD.

Why I Like Jessica Simpson

Many times, celebrities can't control which pictures of them show up in the newspaper, online, in magazines, etc. If they look terrible, they can't usually help where the photo ends up. That has to be frustrating.

HOWEVER-
Jessica Simpson posted on Twitter possibly the strangest and most uncomfortable looking picture of her kissing her new boyfriend Eric Johnson (formerly of the San Francisco 49ers). It's not even a remotely attractive photo of either person!
Even though Jessica Simpson doesn't come off as the smartest girl in town, it's still great that she can be herself and have fun with her boyfriend. Way to go Jess!

My New Car... Yeah Right!

Chevrolet has finally announced the price of their new Volt... (drumroll)... $41,000 or you can lease for $350/month. While it is too expensive for someone of my financial status, the lease payment makes it pretty affordable, considering you would hardly have to use any gas throughout the year! (Plus, for anyone seriously considering the car, there's a pretty big tax write off too.)

The Volt runs 40 miles on battery power, but has a reserve tank of gasoline that will get you an additional 300 miles (so you don't get stranded). I want this car!!!! (Keep dreaming)

Wild Hookups On New Bachelor Pad Show???? NOOOOOO

ABC's crazy new show Bachelor Pad promises to publicly embarrass a choice group of singles AGAIN on national TV. I love the concept of the show: take the favorite castoffs from previous Bachelor and Bachelorette shows and make them live together in a house. These people were desperate for love the first time around - I CAN'T WAIT until this show gets started - I can only imagine how wild it's going to be!!

These daters DO have an advantage though that most others don't have... they can check out all the previous seasons of the show and figure out who the crazies are!

Apparently a few people did not do their homework (pictured to the left):

Kasey Kahl (from Ali's current season - he's the one who got tattooed for Ali) found a hookup partner in Natalie Getz, who is billed as the "Make Out Bandit" in the upcoming show. Yeah, definitely avoid the guy who gets tattooed for a woman he met only a few weeks prior. Nice. Plus, there are already rumors of car accidents and fights, so I'm sure this show is going to be a winner.

Who else is in? The show starts August 9th.

Mel Gibson's Nutty Friends

If Mel Gibson were my friend - I would be moving myself as far away from his as possible right now. I know that sounds terrible, but the guy went off the deep end!!

Per Hollywood tradition, Mel has some big A-list supporters still including Robert DeNiro, Whoopi Goldberg, and Jamie Foxx. In his various rants, Mel has managed to offend every culture, race, and creed of people, it seems.

Whoopi Goldberg somehow sees through his rage and says that she knows Mel and, "he is not a racist". Interesting statement - he seems pretty racist to me! Robert DeNiro was quoted saying, "I hope he gets through all this. It's unfortunate, you know."

Unfortunate? Maybe unfortunate that he got caught!?! I guess I just don't understand where these celebs are coming from... everyone else can see that Mel's career is broken beyond repair. My advice - run far and fast from this guy!

Burn Calories While Sitting On The Couch!

Yes - it's true - you can burn calories while sitting at home doing nothing! It doesn't come without a little effort - but definitely worth it!
The study in Yahoo! Health shows that when you build lean muscle , you can burn triple the calories than fat burns. According to the article, your workout should include 2 strength training sessions and 3 (40 minute) cardio sessions each week.

Obviously, you will be burning calories and fat while you workout, but then when you go home to relax on the couch or spend time with the kids, your body CONTINUES to burn calories - around 150 extra a day than if you didn't squeeze in those workouts.

A little extra working out, a walk with friends, or a game of tennis can all help your body kick it's fat burning power into overdrive. Happy calorie burning!

Think You're Helping Your Career - Think Again!

A few surprising work behaviors may not be helping you at all - in fact, they could make you less productive at work.

1) Multi-tasking: Everyone does this now, but in order to be effective at certain tasks, you need to dedicate your full attention to the project. Studies are saying that a majority of multi-taskers actually are adding time and effort to their workload.

2) Extra hours at work: Just because you're working late doesn't mean you're working harder than others. Too many extra hours can be viewed as a lack of ability to prioritize important tasks.

3) Being overly optimistic: Be realistic with deadlines and promises. Making rosy promises that you can't keep will only hurt you down the road.

4) Building visibility: Let your boss know when you've done something well, but give credit where credit is due. Be very careful not to step on your co-workers on your way to the top.

5) Limiting your abilities: Sure you may be a super smart, technically minded person, but don't forget that your people skills are most likely to get you promoted. Managers need to be able to communicate effectively.

Michael Jackson - One Year Later

Hard to believe - but Friday marks the 1 year anniversary of the death of Michael Jackson. Since he and the Jackson 5 began their careers in Detroit, it is only fitting that Detroit gets to host a new exhibit that begins on Friday.

The Motown Historical Museum (or Hitsville) will have artifacts including uniforms from the Jackson 5, photographs, awards, an early costume worn by a solo Michael Jackson, and much more memorabilia.

The Jackson 5 exhibit runs through September 30th and is open Monday through Saturday. More information here.

American Idol Off-season Update

Even though the show is on break... plenty of American Idol news keeps surfacing.

1) Crystal Bowersox landed herself a contract with Jive Records. It's no surprise that it will be a "bluesy folk rockin' debut album" which will be released later this year. Mark me down as someone who will NOT be purchasing her CD.

2) Auditions for American Idol - Season 10 have been announced... nothing anywhere close to Detroit or even Michigan! Dates include:
July 17 - Nashville
July 21 - Milwaukee
July 26 - New Orleans
August 3 - East Rutherford, NJ
August 11 - Austin
August 19 - San Francisco
Happy travels to those who may be trying to audition.

3) The American Idols LIVE tour kicks off at the Palace of Auburn Hills on July 1st. It's pretty cool that Detroit is the first stop, I think! So - you can get your off-season Idol fix without having to go far.

Almost seems like more Idol is happening now than during the season! Are you ready for another American Idol season .... without Simon!?! I'm not sure how that will go over. We'll just have to wait and see.

HANSON Mania!!

Yes, I remember the days of Hanson - they were quite possibly the best thing to ever happen in my life at that time. In the late 90s - they were just HUGE. Now... surprisingly, they still can draw a crowd, an angry one at that!

The 3 Hanson boys scheduled a free concert in New York, figuring about 10,000 fans would show up. Well, make that 20,000 and you've got chaos, which is exactly what happened! People started pushing and shoving and fights were breaking out OVER HANSON! Two people were even arrested for disorderly conduct. I can see this 10 years ago, but now?!?

Needless to say, the situation was unsafe for the boys (and everyone else there) so they canceled the show.

For a few good memories, I think they'd be worth seeing again - but definitely not worth the risk of being trampled or arrested!

Oprah's Frontrunner

With over 3,000 video entries from people who would like to have their own show in Oprah's new network, the competition is really heating up. At the very moment, though, Zach Anner is leading by over 1,000,000 votes!

So what makes him so popular? It's hard to say, exactly, but he actually is pretty funny! The other twist - Zach has cerebral palsy, but THAT certainly isn't holding him back! Check out his video audition below:

The Wild Side Of Alejandro

Lady Gaga has set the bar very high for herself in terms of presenting a shocking image. Usually, she does a great job of re-inventing herself and giving her Little Monsters what they want.

Alejandro is a near 9 minute mini-movie with all kinds of crazy, Gaga-esque elements including her wearing a super shiny red latex nun's habit, sucking on a rosary, and wearing crosses on some less than appropriate places, paired with some "intense" writhing around on beds with her wearing the usual, next to nothing.

Did she go too far this time? Katy Perry took to her Twitter saying, "Blasphemy as entertainment is as cheap as a comedian telling a fart joke." For a minute, we will ignore the fact that Katy Perry's comedian fiance tells a lot of fart jokes. Watch the video and see what you think.

Amazing Real Life Fairy Tale @ Disney

Disney really IS where the magic happens. Alex and Donna Voutsinas met at work, started dating, then got engaged - pretty standard. To prepare for their wedding, they were going through pictures from when Donna was a kid when they made an INCREDIBLE discovery...

At the very instant that Donna was having her picture taken with one of the 7 dwarfs, Alex noticed that he and his Dad were in the background (the man pushing the stroller & young Alex)! These two were in the exact same place 30 years prior to their engagement!!!



They are happily married now with kids... Destiny? Fate? or just the best fairy tale you've heard in a while?

Toddlers & Tiaras - Obviously A Mess

A new season of Toddlers & Tiara is underway, which means a whole new season of crazy pageant moms and dads making their young children into little money making machines and also little nightmare diva girls!

This 4 year old is no little diva - she give J-Lo, Tyra Banks, and Demi Moore (combined) a run for their money:



After seeing this, I have no idea why these pageants are even legal? (Or how the kids haven't been taken away from the parents) Where do they learn this behavior from?

If these kids are that temperamental at 4 years old - I can't even imagine having to work alongside them in 15 years! No thanks!!

Name Your Price!

Many companies (an estimated 1/3 of US companies) currently have or are planning to introduce financial incentives for getting their employees healthy.

One company had their employees volunteer to wear pedometers - the more steps that the individual took, the more money they could win - up to $500!! At that same company, more than $375, 000 has been paid out in "health rewards" so far. I'd take a piece of that!

Other companies are taking a different approach - they ask the employees who are willing to participate to pay a certain amount of money. Then the employee signs a contract agreeing to lose a certain amount of weight... or they LOSE their deposit. Not a fan of this one, but it sounds like losing money motivates people better than potentially gaining money.

Even though the methods are different - the results are the same - healthier employees! I would enjoy one of these programs here. I'll keep you posted if it happens.

You've Got To Be Kidding!

A woman does the unthinkable in Minnesota!

Amanda McBride was in the car with her husband when her water broke. This has happened before to many women - but of these occurrences, most women were not DRIVING at the time - Amanda WAS!

The strangest part about this is she did not pull over... she just kept driving down the expressway. She put the car in cruise control and told her husband to steer. It's all in the video, but in a nutshell - she just moved her seat back and delivered her son!

Pretty amazing, if I can say so! Honestly, there is no shame is stopping and calling an ambulance, but maybe they just needed a good story to tell their friends and family. Success!

Robot Officiates Wedding For First Time Ever!

Leave it to Japan to come up with the most mind-boggling concept - a robot named I-Fairy to be the officiant at a wedding. For the first time ever, a couple in Tokyo got married over the weekend with the robot as their pastor!

The robot was controlled by a man with a remote who crouched off to the side of the stage. Amazingly, the I-Fairy even was able to speak the pre-programmed phrases needed to complete the wedding ceremony.

If you're looking for that "something extra" for your wedding to make your day extra special, the I-Fairy comes at a price of about $68,000 - a small price to pay for the ultimately unique wedding!

A New Respect For Bowersox

I haven't really been a fan of Crystal Bowersox during her time on American Idol. She obviously has a great voice, but I'm a bit confused about her style. I love that she is confident enough to rock the dreadlocks but overall, I think a mini-makeover would do her well.

That said, lets rewind 11 years to a time when little Crystal was 13 years old. An impressive new video has surfaced of her singing at a small festival in Huron, Ohio:



Great voice for a young teenager (or anyone for that matter)! It also proves that she would look great washing those dreads out and doing her hair up. Just a thought.

Michigan Can't Catch A Break

Great news from over the weekend - the winner of Donald Trump's Miss USA pageant is from Michigan! Rima Fakih earned herself the honor of being the first Arab-American to win the Miss USA title. She's beautiful, classy, educated, and seems like a great choice to be Miss USA.

And now - the bad news... maybe Miss USA isn't what it used to be...

Three years ago, Rima entered into a radio station contest called Stripper 101 and won the competition. Pictures surfaced today of her working a pole (dressed thankfully) at this contest:
It's certainly not the worst thing that could happen, but it doesn't look great the day after you win a beauty pageant.

Are we being too hard on her - or not hard enough? Maybe these pictures are just innocent fun? Or is she a dangerous role model for young girls?

Amazing Child Prodigy

I watched this video initially with pretty low expectations... but WOW was I wrong! Greyson Michael Chance is 12 years old. In the video, he's doing a piano performance of Lady Gaga's Paparazzi for his classmates. Just incredible - watch it here:

The Miracle Swimsuit

Who needs exercise and healthy eating to look great to fit into that swimsuit this summer? Thanks to a little help from Spanx - you have a little more flexibility in your health routine - SPANX SWIMSUITS!

For those not familiar, Spanx are some combination of elastic and nylon and other materials that you wear under your clothes. They can help to smooth out "problem areas" on your body.

For example, I'm not completely comfortable with how my stomach looks. So I just squeeze myself in this nylon sock thing and VIOLA the rolls/lumps look smaller. This could be the greatest invention EVER in women's fashion.

So these Spanx Swimsuits look pretty decent... they'll hide your problem areas... and you can feel confident at the beach again! If they work (and were cheaper) - I would definitely buy one of these!

The bad news - prices range from about $180 - $230 :( Hmm... well if I cancel my gym membership... that money COULD go to the Spanx fund. :) Just a lazy (unhealthy) thought - a bad choice overall.

Lady Gaga Has Two Legs

Lesson for the day: don't believe everything you see on the internet.

From time to time, stories will circulate on Twitter and Facebook that a celebrity is dead. These spread like wildfire.

Today's story involves Lady Gaga. She is very much known for her bizarre fashion choices and strange behavior. Rumor had it that she so badly wanted to make a fashion statement that she had her leg amputated on Wednesday! This is purely crazy... not just because no one does that - but she was taping a performance on Idol Wednesday and would not have had time to have her leg removed.

At least it's a creative rumor though. Gotta give the creator of the story some credit for that.

Sandra Bullock A Mom?

This is crazy to me - not in a bad way - but just shocking. Today, Sandra Bullock officially filed divorce papers to end her nearly 5-year marriage to bad boy Jesse James. That seemed like the biggest Sandra Bullock news that would be coming out - BUT NO - not the case.

Turns out for the last 4 years, she has been working on adopting a baby. She was finally allowed to take her newly adopted son Louis home in January to her house in New Orleans. YES January!!! How in the world did she keep a baby a secret for 4 months?

She credits her family and extremely tight-lipped friends for taking care of baby Louis while she was out at award shows and premieres. For any A-list star to pull something like this off, I am super impressed.

If you need proof - that is the upcoming cover of People Magazine. Good thing she has Louis to focus on to get her mind of her soon to be ex-husband Jesse James. It's all just another reason why Sandra Bullock is amazing.

Cat Vs. Apple iPad

It's officially the weekend, so I thought something light and cute would be good for tonight.

I'm not a fan of the new iPad thing (expanded iPhone) but this cat certainly proves that it can be an entertaining device! Iggy the cat tests out the new Apple toy:



Just love this - so cute! If you didn't like it, maybe watch it again after a few drinks with your friends or maybe just re-watch it again very late at night. If you still don't like it - obviously we don't share a sense of humor! LOL

5 Months To Go

If you were a bridesmaid, what would you want for a gift? I'm having the hardest time figuring out what to get my girls. Also... I need to figure out what the "expected" amount of money is to spend. I don't want to be cheap, but I AM paying for a wedding!

I'm thinking necklaces - kind of like a double feature - they have jewelry to wear at the ceremony and a gift from me. If anyone has received a bad bridesmaid gift - let me know. I don't want to be "That Girl".

Everything else wedding wise seems to be coming together nicely - it's just these crazy gifts that are stressing me out! If you're getting married this year, leave me a comment! :)

Broken Toes Love Twitter

Evan Lysacek has been competing on Dancing With The Stars this season. He recently announced he had two broken toes but he isn't stopping his dancing!


Normally, broken toes aren't really funny BUT they can be! Someone - not Evan - has created a Twitter page under the name Evanstoe. I'm not even a big Twitter fan, but I'm loving these posts from Evan Lysacek's toes!

Ke$ha Gets Really Nasty

Ke$ha has not really made an effort to look nice or presentable since she has been in the spotlight - This is no secret.

But somehow - she has managed to out-do herself:

Yes - squatting over a toilet in a super-mini skirt. That's about as gross as it gets!

However, it guess it could be a bit worse - she could be flashing the cameras like so many other young starlets who so often "forget" to wear underwear.

Thanks for staying clothed, but really - just gross!

My Son Will Love Me On The Stripper Pole

Kendra (originally from The Girls Next Door) went from dating Hugh Hefner to getting married and having a son, Hank - all while on TV. She was always a wild one - but this is too much:

When she was asked how she thought her son would feel about seeing her work a stripper pole when is grows up, she responded, "I think he's gonna love it!"

WHAT? I think she has lost her mind. Can you imaging how embarrassing it would be to be teenage Hank coming home from school with a group of his guy friends only to find his MOM on the stripper pole? I'm sure the poor kid would be horrified.

1) No one wants to think of their Mom as a sexual being (even if she is as gorgeous as Kendra!)
2) The kid would never hear the end of it from his friends about his Hot Mom!

I have nothing against stripper poles for exercise - I've heard it's a great workout - but keep it private and definitely away from your children!

Kate Gosselin - REALLY?

If you have watched Dancing With The Stars at all this season, you would have seen how terrible Kate Gosselin is as a performer. There is no reason she should still be on the show - but she is.

The bottom three couples were Pam Anderson and Damien; Kate Gosselin and Tony; Shannen Doherty and Mark. I didn't think Shannen's performances really stood out - but she at least appeared to have some sort of motivation for being on the show. Kate looked miserable and unhappy the whole time.

Even though Buzz Aldrin isn't a stellar dancer - I'm glad he's still on the show. Just for a couple weeks. He's a national hero and 80+ years old. Let the guy have some fun on the show.

More Dancing happens on Monday. I hope it will be Kate's last week!

Look out cell phone companies: a new application called Line2 is now available on the iPhone. Essentially this app allows you to use any WiFi hotspot including your home or office network to make and receive phone calls - WITHOUT USING YOUR PLAN MINUTES!

I don't have a iPhone, so I haven't tried it... (and I don't encourage using it) but it sounds like a very powerful app! It's amazing what kinds of programs people can create.

Even crazier -- it sounds like you can even download this app on your iPod Touch and use THAT to make phone calls!

The app costs $1 to download and $15/month to use - so it may or may not save you money.

Don't Let Snooki Near Your Kids

When I was in high school, I did my best to convince my parents that spring break was simply a fun trip with my closest girlfriends during a school vacation.

That may sound good to an unsuspecting parent, but Snooki from Jersey Shore sheds some light on what she (and many others) do to get ready for Spring Break each year:

Hilarious when coming from Snooki - but really pretty scary to think thousands of high schoolers are busy planning their Spring Break trips right now.

The Octomom's Next Move

Recently we learned that the Octomom's (and the Octokids) home could soon be in foreclosure. In a nutshell, a few mortgage payments have been missed and essentially some deal was worked out in the past that a lump sum of $450,000 was due this week to stay in the house.

Looks like all of Octomom's attempts at fame haven't brought in the kind of money she was hoping for - or she blew all the cash already - who knows!

BUT - an offer has been made by Vivid Entertainment to save the Octomom! They offered to pay off her mortgage in full if she stars in their next movie. THE CATCH - it happens to be a porn movie!

How far should she go to save the home of her 14 kids? Maybe she should have thought of that a little earlier. Your thoughts?

More Reasons To Be Careful Online

Just a quick tip - if you are in trouble with the law, it is a good idea to stay far away from social networking sites! This may seem obvious, but what may be LESS obvious is that your online friends may not actually be your friends - they could be authority figures looking for information on people of interest.

More and more, criminals are being tracked down through their publicly listed friends. Also, police look for suspicious pictures of people posing with large piles of money, jewelry, or guns when solving robbery cases. Accomplices can also be identified in public photos involving crimes.

The good news: in some cases, your social networking site can provide authorities will an alibi to remove you from the list of suspects in a crime. They can use your sites to figure out where you were at a certain date and time. WOW

Too Much Spare Time

His buildings are absolutely amazing... 34 year old Brian Berg just received an award in the Guinness Book of World Records for building the "Worlds Largest House of Freestanding Playing Cards". I've built a house of cards with probably 5 or maybe 10 cards - but he used 218,792 cards (that's 4051 decks)!

Pretty amazing, I think! It took him 44 days to build - with no adhesives of any sort! And believe it or not, he does have a job - he's an architect with a Masters from Harvard in Design Studies.

New Dancing Co-Host Announced

It was rumored to be down to Vanessa Minnillo, Melissa Rycroft, and Brooke Burke for the newly available Dancing With The Stars co-host position.

More likely, it was probably between the two former Dancing contestants Brooke & Melissa. Ultimately, Brooke Burke won the co-host spot that Samantha Harris held for 8 seasons.

The strangest part of the new co-host is... she looks just the same as the previous host!

I would have loved Melissa to get the job... Did ABC make the right choice? Either way, Dancing With The Stars, Season 10 begins March 22nd.

The Bachelor Or "The Cheater"?!?

The Bachelor: On The Wings Of Love may be over, however, the drama is still going strong!!

A woman who claims to be Jake's ex-girlfriend says that he was cheating on Vienna with her. Jake maintains that he dated this woman before he went on The Bachelor, but that doesn't match with the ex's story.

She says that after he proposed to Vienna and the shows taping ended, Jake returned to his hometown, they began to date. She continues to say that Jake did not even want to propose, but the producers essentially forced him to.

Do you think this lady is credible or is she just a crazy ex-girlfriend looking for some free publicity? I can't wait to see how this unfolds!!!

John Mayer - Not So Bad?

Usually, I would consider John Mayer to be kind of a douche, but for some reason, he changed things up at recent show of his.

An 11 year old boy named Austin made a sign asking if he could play "Belief" with John Mayer on stage. Surprisingly, he said yes! John and the little guy had a jam session on stage in front of over 25,000 people. He even gave Austin an autographed guitar!



Is this good for John Mayer or is he more interesting being a DB? I almost prefer him as the rude, arrogant celebrity - gives us someone to make fun of.

Adam Lambert Is A Bad Loser

American Idol runner up Adam Lambert probably missed being in the spotlight, so he decided to make himself relevant again for a few minutes by picking on Britian's Got Talent sensation Susan Boyle.

Adam completely rips Susan Boyle's CD apart calling it terrible. He goes on to say that when he heard her cover of the Rolling Stones' Wild Horses he cried with laughter.

Funny - because that is how many people felt after watching Adam's performance at the American Music Awards.

Anyway... Adam's CD For Your Entertainment made it only to #3, Susan Boyle's spent over a month at #1. And as far as CD sales go - Adam has sold just over 500,000 copies worldwide to date... Susan Boyle's CD sold over 4 million copies in the U.S. ALONE.

Bye bye Adam.

Great Dane!

Possibly the world's largest Great Dane, Giant George, made his appearance on Oprah today. He weights in at 245 pounds. From the tip of his nose to the end of his tail, he is 7feet 3inches! I am 5'3" on a good day... this dog has 2 feet on me!

Probably the funniest thing about this picture is you see George's back paws hanging off Oprah's couch.

Other fun facts:
-George eats about $200-$300 in food each month
-He outgrew his doggie crate and now sleeps in a queen bed
-And he travels around town in a golf cart

Salad Is A Bad Investment

I have officially come to the conclusion that salad is almost always a waste of money. I always buy bags of pre-mixed salad or even the already prepared caesar salad packages and 90% of the time, my greenery ends up going bad before I can eat it.

I try to make healthy choices at the supermarket, however, it just seems to end up costing me money in spoiled goods. Is there a reason to continue trying to be healthy? My junk food does not go bad!!

In conclusion, salad is not a smart purchase.

Marriage Proposal Gone Wrong??

Yesterday, a video began popping up everywhere with a guy using the big screen at a hockey game to propose to his girlfriend. The sad thing was that the lady stormed out of the place in disgust after seeing the screen. You can't help but feel bad for the guy.



However, now its been uncovered that this was NOT a real proposal. People are saying that the couple in the video are actually already engaged. Rumor has it that the hockey arena paid for these actors to perform for some in-game entertainment.

I think that is clever on the arena management's part. I fell for it. What do you think? Is that an appropriate to do a fake proposal like that?

Super Shoes? Or Not?

I've been battling with the idea of buying shoes that help tone your legs, butt, and thighs. On the surface it sounds outstanding! I have to wonder though... do these shoes actually work or are they just a clever marketing scheme that has us memorized? (see ad below)


As far as I know, it all started with Sketchers Shape Ups (about $100). They look a bit clunky, but I figured it was okay to be clunky if it was going to help my butt!

Then, it seems like every other shoe company released their own version of this shoe. Now we have the Reebok Easy Tone (also $100 - still look a bit strange) and tons of less popular off-brands. Kmart stocks toning shoes very similar to the Sketcher shoe, but they only cost $35. Today, I saw a actual tennis shoe looking version at Payless for $30.

I want to buy into this super-shoe deal, but I don't know. If anyone has purchased this type of shoe... has it worked? Have you noticed a difference? Do your legs, butt, and/or thighs look more toned? (Sorry if that's too personal) Please help me before I make a mistake!

Photoshop Is Everywhere

Another celebrity has been hit by Photoshopping... Kourtney Kardashian just had a baby just over a month ago. She is on the cover of OK! Magazine holding her little guy Mason. The magazine headlines talk about how she lost her baby weight so quickly and also mention tons of diet tips...

But, here's a picture of the OK! cover next to the original (obviously changed) picture:


Kourtney was not happy with the doctoring of her photo or the claim that she had lost her baby weight. She said she gained 40 pounds throughout her pregnancy and is still working to get back in shape.

Do you think OK! really needed to Photoshop her? She just had a baby! - She's not supposed to lose 40 pounds overnight! Her original picture just as gorgeous as the edited one. I think they went too far. Comments?

Heidi Montag Fails!

Superficial - Heidi Montag's debut album came out this week and hardly sold any copies. Huge artists release their CDs and they have 200,000+ copies sold in one week! Heidi managed to sell 658 copies!! Absolutely horrible.

The most ironic part about this whole situation: she revealed she just underwent 10 different plastic surgeries, all at once, in order to get the "perfect body". In interviews she stated that this would allow her to be a huge pop star.


Looks like that plan fell through BIG TIME. She spent about $30,000 on the plastic surgeries, not to mention around $2 million recording her album. The majority of the country just wants Heidi and Spencer to disappear. Hopefully she and her husband will get the hint now.

Dislike!

This "Dislike" goes to John Mayer. He continues to annoy the world, simply by being himself. He turned up on the cover of Rolling Stone, shirtless, with his guitar. While this could be a really sexy picture, he just looks bored or as if he was on something.


Paraphrasing to be appropriate, he says that he only wants to sleep with women that he has previously slept with because he doesn't want to have to explain himself to a new woman. What?!? He also discusses what he does in his "alone time".

Most Depressing Day Of The Year

If you're wondering why today may not have been your best day ever... it could be because Canadian researchers have found that the 3rd Monday in January is the "Most Depressing Day Of The Year".

There is a big, goofy formula that they created with their research. In a nutshell, they say causes for the bad mood include: large Christmas credit card bills are due soon, New Years resolutions have fallen through, and usually weather is usually bitterly cold and snowy.

The good news in all of this, is (as long as the research is right) that means you have 364 days that will be less-depressing than today.

CONANNNNN!!!

Jimmy Kimmel appeared via satellite on Jay Leno's show for the 10@10 feature and spent (almost) the whole time ripping on Jay and the whole NBC situation. The most uncomfortable part is that is was on Jay's show!!

It was almost painful to watch. It was pretty tense and passive aggressive on Jimmy's part (That's what made it great!) My favorite joke was Jay asked what show Jimmy would like to host that he had not hosted before. Jimmy joked that Jay was trying to trick him into hosting The Tonight Show and that Jay planned to take it away immediately afterwards.

Really - the video is your best bet. Get ready for an awkward interview!
