American Idol Stays In The Spotlight

I really enjoyed this season of American Idol, however... now I am done with the drama and sillyness that is happening.

My favorite Idol this season was Kris Allen. I am glad he won. Adam Lambert was a little over the top for me... plus he wears more makeup than I do. However, I do think Adam is a very talented singer. With that said...

Recently in the news, Clay Aiken decided to make sure we knew he was still alive and that we had not forgotten him. He stated that one of Adam's performances "made his ears bleed". Yes, I agree, Adam hits some high, shrill notes, but for some reason, it seems wrong for Clay Aiken to be saying something like that. (I'm annoyed with Clay)

Clay later apologized, but Adam then one-upped Mr. Claynation himself by being classy and making Clay look like a bitter jerk. Well played Adam Lambert!

The moral of the story: Clay Aiken had his shining moments in the spotlight, but now he is a "has been". Time for him to go away (I think).

Let me know whose side you are on... Adam or Clay... or maybe you are over it.

Biggest Loser Secrets To Success!

I have to confess, I did not follow the Biggest Loser: Couples... but I know that many people did. I think I was afraid that I would feel the need to exercise more and eat healthy.... and I'm just not ready for the guilt of that. ANYWAY... the exciting news is that Helen Phillips, a 48-year-old mother of 2 from Sterling Heights, Michigan, lost more than half of her original bodyweight for a total of 140 pounds!!

Here's what she did it:

1) Quit her job to focus on her weight loss
2) Hire 3 personal trainers - work out beginning at 4:30AM (total of 6 hours per day)
3) Block all distractions or "friends"
4) Learn to love fish, veggies, and other health foods
5) Make fitness your life (be a fitness motivational speaker and open a health center)

Yeah! Sounds like fun!
...I think I will stick to being
kind of healthy rather than suffer for the rest of my entire life without work, friends, and McDonalds! Who's with me????? :)

Paula Abdul's Performance

American Idol had a special performance yesterday from the always random judge Paula Abdul. She came out on stage, looked great, and danced pretty well (much better than I can dance for sure!).

However, once the singing started... it went downhill from there. Her performance sounded sooooo pre-recorded and it completely looked like she was lip-syncing the entire song.

I am not opposed to lip-syncing, however, on a show like American Idol that features singers performing LIVE, she should not have done that. What do you think of Paula's performance? I think it would have fit better if she was on tour... just not Idol.
