Thank You Yahoo!

I'm not usually one to sign up for many contests, but I happen to be a cell-phone addict. (If that's not a actual disease, it should be.) On Yahoo! today I stumbled on something about being a product tester for a current Palm cell phone for 6 months and it sounds like they will pay for the phone's data plan for that long too! YAY

The phone may resemble this... but probably will be different. I just found a random Palm picture.

All I did was fill out an 8 question survey about what I do on a day-to-day basis, how I would describe myself, what I use my current phone for, and a few other non-invasive questions.

As a disclaimer... it sounds great, but before you take the survey, check out the details on the website yourself. It looks pretty simple... but I cannot guarantee it is safe. I simply saw it online. With that... if you want to try to get a free phone from Treo for 6 months... click on the link below.

If you do fill out the survey, good luck! (even though you will be competing against me - I'm not mad). Let me know if you are selected too! I'm excited about this. :)

The Saturday That Wasn't - EDIT

Last Saturday, I had one of the weirdest days that I can remember. I planned to leave my house at 2 to meet up with my Mom... but she got sick and my adventure began

Here's just a bit of how my afternoon went:
-Drove to the radio station to see if there was any random work I could do. (that is sad, I know) - nothing there
-Wanted to drive along the water, but I couldn't decide which city to go to
-Sat in my car near the Great Lakes Maritime Center for a few minutes
-Proceeded to the "North End" or the city of Fort Gratiot, hoping to find a store or something to catch my eye. Nothing sounded fun or inviting. So I looped back around and drove back south towards the downtown.
-Searched for the location of the former military fort, Fort Gratiot - ultimately couldn't find it
-Sat in a parking lot right under the Bluewater Bridge and seriously considered going to Sarnia - I have never been there.
-Was all set to go to Sarnia, but got nervous because I didn't know if they accepted credit cards for the bridge toll. Plus I was trying to figure out what I would tell customs when they asked me what I was doing. I don't think it is a good idea to say "I just wanted to drive over the bridge to see Sarnia up close." I am pretty sure that would have caused me to get searched at customs.
-Drove back toward the North End after being convincing myself to not to go to Sarnia - still not sure where exactly I was heading
-Stopped in the parking lot of Jimmy Johns in the modern day city of Fort Gratiot (not the old military fort).
-Sat in the parking lot for probably 25 minutes before committing to getting a sub sandwich.
-Started to head home... but then got distracted and stopped in my favorite park, Pine Grove, to watch the freighters and skateboarders.
-Went for a bitter cold walk along the boardwalk... wandered back to my car
-Finally, moved my car to the boardwalk in front of Edison Shores, turned the heat on, and listened to the radio.

Wow... what a day.
(You must be really bored to have read this far!) It was the Saturday that could have been so many things... but turned out just being strange. Thanks for listening. I feel better now.

Official American Idol Predictions

Tonight, for the first time in a long time, I was able to watch a decent chunk of American Idol. Due to my shift (6P to Midnight) it is hard to keep up on prime time TV, but somehow, tonight it worked out.

I saw 3 of the contestants... Allison, Matt, and Adam Lambert. For official review purposes, I will make my decision about who should win the entire contest, exclusively based on the 3 I saw.

First... Adam: I think he is a talented guy and he got a standing ovation from Simon. But personally, I would not select him as my American Idol... his style is unique, but almost too unique. So he is the first one I will eliminate.

Between Allison Iraheta and Matt Giraud, now that's tough. Both of them performed incredibly tonight and got pretty decent reviews from the judges. I love Allison because she is so talented and only 16 years old!! I know when I was 16 I was not doing anything
remarkable like she is.

Matt absolutely NAILED his Stevie Wonder song tonight. Wow. The added bonus: he is from Michigan... kind of like our hometown hero.
Based only on tonight's performance, I would pick Matt... but I am known to change my mind quite often.

What did you think of the performances? Who should be eliminated on Wednesday?
